We generally work on 4-5 projects during the 8-week course which is based on a different theme each term. It is so rewarding to see them develop and grow in this open and supportive environment. I LOVE teaching art to kids and I feel extremely lucky to be able to run this programme in my local community.
I am able to cater for ages 5-12 at all levels of ability as the class sizes are limited.

Imagine a secret garden of your very own creation! Open the gate to an inspirational world of colour and delight. We will be looking at the colourful forests of David Hockney, the charming folk art movement, the crazy contours of Hundertwasser as well as the whimsical cardboard structures of Rob Dunlavey for inspiration. Drawing and painting techniques will be covered in the lessons as well as construction and collage.

Take a journey to discover the art of the Pacific. Explore land, sea and sky as we look at modern and traditional tapa design, Maori kowhaiwhai paintings and carvings, Pacific Ocean creatures and native birds of Aotearoa. Students will be working with paint and a variety of drawing materials as well as experimenting with printmaking and construction techniques.
Suitable for ages 5-12.
